24th Jan 2009 - rek

Lazy week... been putting off blogging for some time. hahaha...

Cleaned the toilet in my parent's room. here's a picture before cleaning.

After cleaning:

Here it is after cleaning.

There was alot of paint stains which i managed to scrap off the tiles. wonder why i didnt do that in the past. haiz... sorry house. i was too obessed with my own stuff(enjoyment rather) and neglected to take care of you. but anyway, thanks for taking care of me and my family for the past 20 years.

on thursday was the death anniversary of my great grandma. felt abit guilty as i over slept and pa ma did all the preparation and cleaning. lots of food was prepared. thank goodness ranna came with her husband to help finish the food.
Curry was irin's favourite. its a pity that she didnt drop by on that day.

Yesterday went out to watch 赤壁2 with irin and raymond. after which, we went to have buffet at Nihon Mura at The Cathay. overall the buffet was quite ok, but the initial start was slow, so we over gorged on the rice items. Tubei came to pass me some of the toys that i ordered from him. Gunplas kits which i liked and will be building when i'm free. when raymond asked, i told him that i was going to sell those for profit so that he dont nag at me for spending all my money on toys. hmmm.... i think he starting to get naggy like my mom. One of the stuff we talked about during buffet was concept of how to gather more wealth. maybe raymond dont understand. Toys are the source of my motivation to get back to working. without money, i cant buy more toys. With my parents and sisters working, i have no worries about having food on the table, water to bath or a bed to sleep.

Honestly, i think irin and raymond are roughly the same kind of ppl like what liying is. liying was a "ex-colleague" of mine. she claim to have no hobbies though she enjoys movies and food. i think what she is trying to say is, she cant find an source of passion to spice up her life. in a sense, she's bother and lost when she isnt watching movies or eating. lets face it. you cant be eating 24 hours a day. and there is only so many movies you can watch. haiz...

Ma just suggested that i clean out the closet under the alter. hahaha... a place where i dare not touch as its where all the treasures my mom gather were kept. maybe i'll think of something to help her tidy up. think ma was tired of the bottles of volka and bailey on my sis's desk and wants me to pack it in there also.

21st January 2009

Ahhh... I am so fed up with myself. Me and my itchy hands! I manage to maintain my manicure from monday till end of today was so proud of myself, but at the same time I feel my nails are losing the shine of the top coat. So I happily went to look for my top coat in my box of nail polish. Who knows, after applying, suddenly I realise that there are a lot of air bubbles on my nails, and to my horror, I realise the bottle of clear coat that I applyed wasn't a top coat, It's my Nail Quencher Hydrating Base Coat! That explains are the air bubbles!!! Ahhh... Why didn't I read the words stated on the bottle, why did I simply assume that the blue bottle is my top coat... Feel like crying, feel like killing myself for being so blur! Haiz.. Now no matter what I try the air bubbles doesn't go away.. Ahhhh... What should I do?

19th January 2009

Went to Pearl Center Nail's Dreamer for our nail session with Linda, Joyce(My Cousins) and Juan. Decided to go there because linda's colleague recommeneded them and on top of that the price was a lot cheaper than outside. They only charge $40 for classic mani and pedi and they offer 2 nail art for free. The service there were fast and quick, I manage to finish both my manicure and pedicure with 1 hour. The lady boss was very friendly as well.

After our manicure and pedicure, met up with Randy for a while, he came all the way to Pearl Center to pass me the stuff I bought online that he has collected on my behalf earlier on. Afterwhich he went to meet up with Zhi Hong, Linda went to meet up with TJ to have their Anniversary Dinner. Haha, they decided to go to Mr Curry, and after Juan knows about it, we kind of decided to go to Mr Curry as well. I tried the Shrimp Curry Omelette that I was interested in, while Juan tried her Doria that she wantd to try before that. There was also a huge joke about Joyce thinking that Mr Curry was an indian prata shop, and ws surprised that we manage to spend $23 each that that shop, when we were there then she finally realise that it is a Japanese Curry Shop instead of the prata shop that she thought. Below are some pictures that I took during our meal there:

My pedicure for CNY. My manicure is of the same colour and design. :)

My Curry's Signature Mango Juice. It's really thick and it tasted a little like liquid mango pudding.

Finally I get my Calpis Water and not Calpis Soda..

Joyce's Spinach & Bacon Omelette Curry Rice.

My set of Shrimp Omelette Curry Rice which consist of shrimp omelette, Rice, salad, Pickles, Seaweed Soup and My choice of curry.

Closed up on my Shrimp Omelette. The egg tasted like the one in Mac's Big breakfast while the prawns are fresh and crunchy.

Juan's Hamburg Curry Doria.

The Closed up: You can see the melted cheese on the juicy and tender hamburg being served with the rice in curry sauce. Yummy!!!

It's not chao ta neither is it squid ink, it's the Black Curry that I had with my shrimp Omelette curry Rice.

The Mr Curry Original Curry. You can see that the one I had is a lot richer.. Muahaha

Joyce is so busy trying out the food that me and juan ordered.

Went to church early in the morning with seagull. while waiting for raymond to join us for swimming, seagull took an interest in the following set of gachapons.

Went for the swim, followed by lunch then the card game.

Lunch money was abit disturbing. but i really enjoyed playing dominion. haiz... if it wasnt that expensive, and needing so many players, i'll be thinking of getting a set.

Came home to join pa ma for dinner.

18th January 2009

Went for a haircut with Juan(my sis) and my cousin Linda yesterday at Far East. Juan had rebonding while Linda had a perm. Had to wait for them for hours, as I was only having a haircut. I was kind of chased out of the salon was there was seriously too much customers there. So decide to walk around but Far East was extremely crowded maybe because of last min shoppers. So decided to go over to Randy's place to nua abit coz it's was only 5 plus and Linda will only finished at around 8 plus. Went over to spend some time with Randy before traveling back to meet Linda and Juan for dinner.

Decided to have our dinner at Central, at first we were thinking of having fisherman's wharf, but we change to Mr Curry in the end because Fisherman's wharf does not have air con. Muahaha... We waited for more than 30 mins before we get our seats, the 3 of us was irritated as we were both tired and hungry. I personally feel like killing the people who are seating there chit chatting with their friends when they know that there are people waiting to be sitted. But we decided to stick with My Curry as it was already 9 plus and most restaurants would already be closing. When we get in, I perosonally loves the deco that the restaurant, I find it cute and girly. On top of that, the food was served a lot faster than we expected maybe because we requested to make our order before we were given the seats. Even though the food was served fast, the utensils was only given to us after we requested for it which was like 10 mins later. So I wasn't very pleased with the service level that Mr Curry is providing. But think I might go back on a less busy day afternoon to try the shrimp omelette curry set as well as the other types of curries that they are offering which include black(rich), red(fresh) and white(creamy). Below are some of the photos that we have taken as well as some elaborations on the food we had:

Mr Curry the place where we had our dinner.

Haha, Linda posing with the pots, you can see that we didn't have much to do while waiting.

Me with the 'M' that represents 'Mei' which is me.. Muahaha...

Can see that Juan is not very happy having to wait for so long. She feel like murdering the waitresses cause she REALLY very Hungry.

The sign at the entrance of Mr Curry.

Its real virign olive oil and balsamic vinegar, think it is a good way to let it age while not having to waste kitchen space.. Muahaha..

It only states Mr Curry, wonder what is in the can, maybe its empty. Humpf.

Part of the deco that is right beside of our table..

The coaster was kind of special, there is a simple sudoku printed on it . Haha, Sudoku lovers you can solve them while waiting for ur orders to come.

There is a special kind of sauce that is available at the left side of each table. And it is the mango dressing, wonder wat is it use for. Juan was joking taht we can add the mango dressing to plain water to get mango juice that Linda actually wanted but it was sold out.

Topping Menu: You can add extra toppings to the dishes that you ordered. There is a whole range of topping from seafood (Shrimps, Squid, Oyster, Museels) to meats(Katsu, beef, hamburg) and also vegetables (mushrooms, and spinach). The cost of the each toppings varies so take a look at the price before you order.

Value for Money Lunch Menu: You can choose one dish from A which is mainly the curries, the portion is a lot smaller than the normal ones, while the range of dishes from B are mainly sandwiches and pizza.

The kids menu: It looks really nice, and there is omu rice.. Tempted to ordered, but we can't,.. It's only for kids..Humpf, so sometimes its good to be a kid. Humpf... Maybe I should bring a kid along and order the meal and ask him/her to choose something from the normal menu instead.. *Evil Grin.

Here on the special menu, the top 3 rows are the main course such as steaks, stews and hot plate items. These dishes do not come with any rice or curry. If you would like to order rice, it comes along with soup at a price of $3.80++. The bottom 2 rows are mainly side dishes, some examples are fried button mushroom, prawn fritters, fries, mussels and etc.

Juan had fanta cherry, it tasted like the non-gas-sy version of F&N cherry. It's not as sweet as F&N Cherry as well.

Both linda and i had Calpis soda, its mainly japanese yogurt drink with soda water. My actual order order was Calpis Water, but decided to just leave it. Personally i think the soda water was a little too much, even after mixing it properly, I can't really tasted Calpis.

Chicken & Mushroom Risotto: I ordered for an additional topping of minced beef to be added, had a craving for beef on that day. But in the end, think the taste of the minced beef is so heavy that it kind of covered the taste of the curry, so after eating my mouth is only full of the taste and the smell of the beef. The risotto was also a little too watery for my liking, I feel more like eating congee instead of risotto.

Stewed Cheese & Hamburg Curry: Tasted a little, the hamburg was juicy and tender, for this dish, the selection of the curry are not allowed in the range of stewed curries, only the original curry is served, so if you are interested in the other curries, you might have to order other ranges.

Pork Katsu Spagehetti set: Tasted a little, the katsu was not too bad, its juicy but not oily, even I who is not a fan of breaded stuff find it kind of nice. But to me the curry was a disappointment, Linda ordered the extra spicy orginal favour curry, but all I tasted was the chilli and not much of the curry favour.

Linda with the cute fork and spoon.

Waiting to started on my risotto.

From her smile, you can see that Linda enjoyed her Pork Katsu Spaghetti Curry too.
We can see that Juan was very happy with stewed cheese and hamburg curry to the extend that she keep saying "I am very happy with the food".

Me eating the risotto, the portion of the risotto is kind of small, so guys if you are a big eater maybe you might want to order some side dishes.

When alf first got to know me, he commented that when i talk to ppl, my eyes seems to be avoiding contact and is looking all over the place. what happened was, in the past, i maintained full eye contact, and someone told me that i look very fierce. after that, i dont maintain a constant eye contact when talking to ppl.

Today it suddenly struck me that its not me that is looking fierce, but its the person whom i was talking to, having a guilty heart. many a times, its not how ppl look at you, but how you think ppl look at you. it is not the other's eyes that you fear, its the you whom you see in others eyes. are you proud and guiltless enough to face yourself? i am.
